Trip to Ooty (Destiny Farm Stay) with all our Contusians!!

This time we decided to take all our Contusians to Ooty for a short trip.  We know that organizing a trip for 100 is not a easy job.  So, Sriram, Balamurugan and myself along with our common friend Gopi started to Ooty, two days in advance to setup things in the resort. We have selected Destiny FarmStay and booked the whole resort so, when our people reach there we will be the only guest in the resort.

There is no roads to Destiny Farm Stay so only possibilities is with the Truck / Jeep. They have a parking area 2.5 kms from their resort.  So from the parking area fun starts, we have to board to truck to reach the place and the travel in truck is really amazing.  First time guest will definitely have a thought that whether we could reach the resort safely :) but the truck driver is really cool and talented enough to drive the vehicle.  Fun part is driver will try to take some cuts to avoid us from the Gundu Kuzhi road but it will go worst :)

As soon you stepped down from the vehicle, you will be surprised to see the place surrounded by mountains with beautiful scenic and you will be surrounded by nice people who will always care for you, they will always try to keep you engaged with lots of activities like Horse riding, fishing, zip drive, rock climbing, borne fire, music etc.,

Purpose of our travel in advance is to make arrangement so that when our Contusians reach here they will have fun, but these guys in Destiny had already prepared and they are ready to welcome our people with full plan.  They just asked for the list of people and the rest has been taken care by themselves. So, what next?  We enjoyed complete 4 days with lots of activities in and around Destiny farm stay.  When our people reached, everything went fine as planned and our guys enjoyed the trip.

There was only one comment from everyone of us, which was awesome people and awesome experience.  My sincere thanks to Mr. Brijesh, Resident Manager of Destiny Farm Stay who took efforts to make this trip a wonderful experience.  I cannot forget other gentleman’s over there especially Rajesh, Sugam, Dharma, Sshibu, Anupam, Bhasker, Iksha and the rest.

Thrilling experience on Parvatha Malai - Lord Shiva temple

I was blessed to go to Parvatha Malai last week to worship Lord Shiva, where I had an interesting and thrilling experience. On the way to Parvatha Malai, we went to couple of other spiritual places which were Thiruvannamalai temple and Thirumukkoodal Appan Venkatesa Perumal Temple in Kanchipuram District, which has a great history behind it.

For the first time in my lifetime, I followed one week of strict fasting with rules and regulations such as offering prayers, wearing the "maalai", etc., and I didn't think it'd be easy for me. I completely enjoyed during the fasting period of seven days and I had good and positive feelings during that time. I was accompanied by few of my good old friends, who helped me to climb the toughest mountain. We started from Chennai in the morning and reached the base of Parvatha Malai in the late evening and we visited other temples on the way.

Parvatha Malai doesn't have proper road / steps or any other mode of transportation to climb the mountain like other mountain-based temples such as Sabarimala, Tirupati, Palani, etc. For 1.8 kms, there is a concrete steps, after that we should walk through uneven rock-made steps for another 1.7 kms. Then comes a real trekking experience where we have to climb without proper steps.  On both the sides, there will be iron rods placed and there will be a tiny hole where you can keep your leg and hand on iron rod to balance, interesting part is that there is no electricity and hence we need to carry torch light with us :).  Since it was night, there was no feeling of the fear of the height or the tough climbing condition, and somehow we managed to climb.  If it had been day time, and if I were to see the steepness and the difficult condition of the climbing, then it would have been doubtful of whether I would have climbed at all !!

Finally, after arduous climbing, we reached the temple in 3 ½ hours and we stood at 4560 ft height.  When we reached the top and saw the temple and the saw the Abhishekam of the Lord, all the tiredness melted away.  I really felt to be blessed to do the abhishekam to God by ourselves as there are no priests here.  I was able to feel the vibrant energy present all over the place and it was absolutely fantastic to be there. I felt like attaining the "piravi payan."

Happy ending of 2010!!

I write this post on the New year eve with full of joy & excitement. Yes, on this day we have achieved one of our biggest goal which is "Mission 100". We have become 100 employees company with lots of ups and downs throughout the year 2010. Last year we were at 28, today because of the contribution of each member of Contus our strength grows to 100. I heartly thank my initial members of Contus who we always believe as our pillars of Contus, I also thank other members of each team who equally contributed for the success of Contus.

Recruiting people in all the areas is not an easy job. In two months we have recruited people for Business Development, Content writing, Support team, Programmers, Designers.. This become possible only because of our talented HR who played a vital role.

We always set our Goals for each year, recently we reviewed our Business goals 2010 and set the new Business goals for 2011. During the review we were very much happy that we were able to achieve almost all the major goals that we set for the year 2010.

This year there are quite challenging goals which needs to be achieved, one main goal is "98% customer satisfaction". I am very much confident that with our team we will make that possible and we will have most of our customers happy.

As a sign of achievements, we have arranged for a New party @ The Checkers hotel, Events was well conducted by the celebrity Ms. Sharmila and team.  It was a great evening started with face paintings, fun games, awards and dance floor.

Though we are excited about the huge success, our team clearly knows that we have many chapters and this is just the first chapter that comes to an end. We have already reset our mind and we are ready to lead the second chapter with fresh mind and fire of achieving 2011 goals. Now am eager and waiting for the end of 2011 to see our achievement for the year 2011.

Towards the Mission 100

As one of the biggest targets for the year 2010, we are moving towards "Mission 100".  Phase II interior works has been completed and slowly it is getting into operations. Office warming happened on 12th November, I have pinned up few snaps below.

Though most of the newly recruited people are in training, Support & Testing team, Project Management executive trainees hit the floor and started engaging in operations.

Currently our strength is 80, expecting another set of people to join on December 24 2010 to grow our strength to 100 +. As always, it is our team's energy which made things possible.  One best thing about our team is, when they believe in something they will make it happen.
